In the quote on the back
VanderMeer describes 'Acception' as "incendiary".
This has me equal parts strutting and crowing like a rooster, and cowering under my bed waiting to be shouted down as a charlatan.
(Actually what I think he really means is that the story dooms the book to be burned. BURNED.
BUUUUUURNED.)
Surely having the book burned because of you story would be a badge of honor? It would put you right up with Brecht and Hemingway :).

ReplyDeleteWhat Jaime said!
ReplyDeleteOh, did I say incendiary?
ReplyDeleteI MEANT TOTALLY FUCKING BRILLIANT, ORIGINAL, AND TAKE-NO-PRISONERS AWESOME AND COOL AND GOOD...and, er, ya know, worth reading.

I like the way you think, Mr Miller, indeed I do.
ReplyDeleteJaime 'n Selena, I no know yet, but will harp on about it loud enough when it's in the wild.
Jeff, later I shall quote your opinion of my story being "...er, ya know..."
