Cake-Eating Day

Happy birthday to me,
Happy birthday to me,
Happy birthday you ugly bag of water,
Happy birthday to me.

Why was she born so staggeringly rude and narky,
Why was she born at all,
Because she had no say in it,
She had no say at all.

  1. And time to have your cake. :-D

    Happy Birthday, Tess.

I have to put in a quick "hey!" about the ugly, you know. You're not.

(Unfortunately I can't comment on rude and narky, but hey, no-one's perfect ;-) ;-) ).

Have a great day, and good luck with the museaum job. That would rock, and not just because it's work, eh :-).

    Happy Birthday!!

Please eat some cake for me to even out the difference between our sizes.

IOU one birthday something (maybe a coffee, maybe something with alcohol, maybe one of those strings of mardi gras beads) - redeemable in July.

  5. Heather, 'ugly bags of water' is a movie quote. Actually, I think it might be from a Star Trek episode. Something with Captain Picard in it. Pretty apt description of the human race.

Selena, alas for long memories. ;P

Anonymous...I'm guessing that's you, Gillian. What with the coffee and beads. Heh.

Thanks Aan! Mum discovered a bookshop in the city where half of these came from, we're going to have to check it out.

Tess: ooh, more unknown bookshops? Sounds like a plan. (Actually, I came past one the other week I still want to check out as well, merely because of its name: Alice's.) Shoot me an email whenever you feel like coming down, and we'll go on a bookstore crawl. :) (Did I ever let you know I'm living in Brunswick nowadays?)

As for "Ugly bags of mostly water" - one of the first season TNG episodes, indeed. I'm glad to say the name of it has escaped me though. (Not so glad that I then googled to discover that it was "Home Soil") :P

  7. *points* Nerd!

There was another book my parents had on order that didn't make it in time, and is due this week. Hopefully I'll get a call in the next few days. Do you work during the day, or are you largely free?

    Guilty as charged. :D

I work whenever I feel like working. Recently this has often been something like 12:00 - 20:00 (though I'm trying to push back to 08:00 - 16:00), but I can reschedule / rearrange to suit my whims. (Yes, I like this whole freelancing thing.) :)

Aka, I should be largely free. :)

I'm also vaguely thinking I need to go and see H2G2 and RotS one of these weeks. Know you've seen 'em already, but thought to mention just in case you had any particular desire to go and see them again.
